CinemaNext, ATG Announce Licensing Agreement

CinemaNext today announced a new technology licensing agreement with US-based Adaptive Technologies Group for its PS Box boothless cinema system. Under this exclusive agreement, Adaptive will manufacture the PS Box at their factory in southern Los Angeles and sell it in select territories including the USA, Canada, Mexico, Latin America and Australia & New Zealand.

Éclair Announces Theatrical Delivery Agreement with Diagonal for Switzerland

Éclair today announced a theatrical delivery agreement with Zurich-based Diagonal to offer service solutions to film studios, distributors and cinema exhibitors. The three-year contract is effective immediately and covers Diagonal’s home base in Switzerland and Éclair's key markets, including France, Benelux, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy and UK.

Sony, Hawk-Eye Partner to Showcase Event Cinema Demo

Sony Digital Cinema 4K and Hawk-Eye Innovations today announced what the companies say is the first full proof of concept of Hawk-Eye’s globally renowned technology outside the world of sports broadcasting. Hawk-Eye’s Smart Production technology is being used to capture the Hackney Empire’s production of Charlie Parker’s Yardbird chamber opera, with a view to demonstrating scalable, cost-effective remote production for arts establishments.

SpectiCast Acquires Rising Alternative; Terms not Disclosed

Philadelphia-based event cinema distributor SpectiCast Entertainment has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Rising Alternative. "The acquisition of Rising Alternative tremendously enhances our presence in the event cinema marketplace," said Mark Rupp, president of SpectiCast. "Not only will we gain access to amazing programs; the acquisition will accelerate the expansion of our global cinema network."
