The Vista Group movie and TV website Flicks, which has enjoyed popularity in New Zealand since 2006 and Australia since 2015, is launching in the United Kingdom this month. Flicks offers film and TV listings including local cinema showtimes and on-demand streaming availability as well as editorial contributions from local writers. Flicks engages entertainment writers and tastemakers to curate a selection of recommended content intended to help fans discover their next favourite movie or television gem. Registered users can save titles to a watchlist and will soon be able to receive notifications when those titles become available in cinemas or via streaming. Following the website launch, Flicks is working to launch an iOS and Android app, offering a more accessible and seamless experience for mobile users. The Flicks App is expected to be available by the end of the year.

“Our mission is to become the UK’s destination to discover your next great watch, be it in cinemas or at home.” says Paul Scantlebury, CEO and co-founder of Flicks. “The release landscape is changing – there’s never been so much brilliant content available and so many ways to watch it. We’re here to help people navigate this. Our recommendations are made according to people not algorithms.”

Flicks includes nationwide cinema showtimes and listings from all major streaming platforms including Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video and Apple TV+. Flicks currently reaches over 1.4 million consumers every month across its Australian and New Zealand sites. “We already have a number of UK visitors coming to our Australian and New Zealand destinations. We believe our brand and product offering will resonate with the British audience," Scantlebury says.
