The Netflix Post Technology Alliance has selected Adobe After Effects as one of the initial products in the new visual effects category. The Alliance is a program committed to serving the evolving needs of the post-production community through innovation and support.
Adobe joining the program with Premiere Pro when it launched last fall. After Effects will now receive a Post Technology Alliance product designation specifically for VFX, a mark of quality, service, and support as a leading VFX tool. Premiere Pro will remain in the Editorial category of the program.
“After Effects has won the trust of visual effects artists all over the world, and now, we’re proud that Netflix has officially welcomed it into the VFX category in the Post Technology Alliance,” said Van Bedient, senior strategic development manager at Adobe. “Through this new designation, we’re excited to continue our work with Netflix to solve creative challenges and optimize workflows for all of the visual effects masters who rely on After Effects to create magic on screen.”
Last year After Effects’ founding team was honored with a Scientific and Engineering Award from The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for breaking new ground in the science of filmmaking.
