National CineMedia has opened a Detroit office to work more closely with clients and agencies in the Detroit marketplace, most notably the auto industry.

Kendra Cassidy has joined NCM to run the Detroit office as a national account director, and will work with advertising clients and agencies to help them reach an audience of more than 700 million moviegoers who enjoy NCM’s FirstLook pre-show in over 40 other leading national and regional theater circuit affiliates, including AMC, Cinemark, and Regal Entertainment Group.

“After a five year absence, we knew it was critical to have a dedicated presence back in Detroit to manage and consult with our growing automotive business,” said Cliff Marks, president of sales and marketing with NCM. “Detroit is one of the most important ad markets in the country, and after the tremendous success we had in the 2014-15 upfront season from the auto category, it became clear that we needed to have the right person on the ground to continue to expand our great relationships with U.S. automakers. Kendra is the ideal person to run NCM’s Detroit office.”

Formerly of Time Inc., Cassidy most recently served as Detroit Director of InStyle magazine. Previously, she managed sales efforts for the company’s print and digital properties including InStyle, People, Essence, People StyleWatch, Real Simple,Health and Cooking Light.
