MTI Film has been honored with a Technical Engineering Emmy Award at the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards. The award was presented in recognition of the significant impact MTI Film's DRS Nova software system has made on television post-production.
DRS Nova has become an industry standard in digital restoration, helping to preserve and restore countless hours of television content for nearly three decades. The software’s advanced algorithms and tools have been instrumental in bringing aging and damaged footage back to life, ensuring that television's history remains accessible and vibrant for future generations.
The Television Academy recognized the exceptional contributions of MTI Film's inventors Stuart Geman and Kevin Manbeck, as well as senior software engineers John Mertus and Michael Braca, whose innovations and dedication have been pivotal in developing and enhancing DRS Nova.
Larry Chernoff, CEO of MTI Film said, "We are deeply honored by the Television Academy's recognition of our work. DRS Nova has been a labor of love for our team, and it is immensely rewarding to see the impact it has made over the last 30 years. We thank the Academy for this prestigious award, which underscores the importance of restoration in preserving the legacy of television. We look forward to continuing our commitment to innovation and excellence in post-production."
