GDC Named Co-Presenting Sponsor of CineAsia 2024

GDC Technology Limited announced today it has signed an agreement with Film Expos Group to be the official co-presenting sponsor of CineAsia 2024. As part of the agreement, GDC will continue to play a significant role at Asia’s largest convention and trade show, which is held solely to promote a sustainable and greener cinema industry. CineAsia will be held December 9-12 at the True Icon Hall in Bangkok, Thailand.

GDC has pioneered LED cinema media servers, with close to 200 LED cinema screens installed worldwide. As of September 2024, more than 80 percent have adopted GDC LED media servers. “The journey into the next era of digital cinema will be an exciting adventure led by LED cinema screen technology,” said Pranay Kumar, CTO of GDC Technology Limited. “With our high-performance standalone integrated media block for LED direct view displays, exhibitors can now offer their customers an unmatched moviegoing experience.”

GDC LED IMBs are widely compatible with LED screens including Cinity, Samsung Onyx, Unilumin, Quantum Media Systems and Lopu LEDMax LED cinema screens. The latest generation of high-performance LED IMBs are architected using GDC’s FAST technology. For instance, the SR-5520 IMB is specifically engineered for cinema LED displays that adhere to high dynamic range specifications, enabling playback of content beyond DCI HDR standards. It supports high frame rate playback of digital cinema package content in 4K at 96 fps for 2D and 48 fps per eye for 3D.
