G-Technology announced a partnership at Sundance Film Festival with Seed & Spark to create an ecosystem that enables independent filmmakers to fund, promote and distribute their products. The partnership will help educate filmmakers on optimizing their workflow while giving them access to professional tools necessary to make their dreams a reality.

G-Technology’s storage solutions are developed with the creative professional in mind, and feature the speed and reliability filmmakers need, paired with stylish designs. Now, Seed & Spark users can ask their supporters to contribute toward the G-Technology storage solutions they need to keep their work safe, whether on set or back in the office for post-production.

“We’re dedicated to providing filmmakers and other creative professionals with the tools they need to bring their work from concept to reality, and our partnership with Seed & Spark gives us another way to extend this commitment,” said Mike Williams, G-Technology vice president and general manager. “When the results of your hard work and creative vision are stored on a hard drive, keeping that data secure becomes a sacred task—and we work to make that task easier each and every day."

G-Technology and Speed & Spark are kicking off their collaboration with the Show Us Your Drive contest. Beginning January 27, filmmakers, photographers and other creatives can share their photos and stories, detailing the special care they take with their external hard drives that hold their precious content—from long road trips to avoid airport x-ray machines, to elaborate rituals intended to appease the “storage gods.”

Stories and photos on Instagram and Twitter tagged with #ShowUsYourDrive will be entered in the contest. Filmmaker judges Matt Sobel (director of Take Me to the River), Academy Award nominee Alex Buono and Frontline documentarian Sachi Cunningham will choose their favorite story from among the entries.

On March 31, one winner will be selected to receive $5,000 in G-Technology storage solutions and be featured in Seed & Spark’s Bright Ideas Magazine.

G-Technology will also participate in Seed & Spark’s #stayindietour. This cross-country crowdfunding workshop visits U.S. cities to teach filmmakers best practices for creating, funding and promoting their work. With G-Technology’s support, attendees will also receive training on storage workflow and how to make their projects faster, simpler, better and scalable.

“It's utterly thrilling to partner with G-Technology to help educate, equip, and empower filmmakers,” said Emily Best, Seed & Spark founder and CEO. “They're the gold standard in storage solutions amongst creative professionals, and we're excited to work with their team and develop a range of initiatives that will directly help a new class of storytellers create more content they truly love.”
