Fandango has added Harkins Theatres, Digiplex Destinations and Premiere Cinemas to its cinema network. These latest exhibitor agreements bring Fandango’s ticketing conveniences to an additional 1,000 screens in a dozen states including Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. Fandango now powers online and mobile ticketing for more than 24,000 U.S. screens, representing the vast majority of the nation’s theaters.
“We are thrilled to work with Harkins, Digiplex and Premiere to help them reach even more moviegoers through our expanding online and mobile ticketing platforms, and ultimately grow their businesses,” said Fandango president Paul Yanover.
Harkins Theatres is the fifth largest theatre chain in the U.S. and operates 30 theatres across five states, representing 432 screens. “We are excited to begin our relationship with Fandango this summer,” said Mike Bowers, president of Harkins Theatres. “We look forward to Fandango’s innovations helping us expand our presence on new platforms, while providing even more conveniences for Harkins’ moviegoers.”
"We are committed to increasing choices for our customers, both in the variety of movies and other on-screen entertainment, and the convenience of service throughout our operations," said Chuck Goldwater, executive vice president of Digiplex. "We are excited about all the advantages and conveniences – including smartphone access and online and mobile ticket-buying – that our partnership with Fandango will bring to our customers."
“We are always looking at ways to enhance the cinema experience for our guests,” said Joel Davis, vice president of operations for Premiere Cinemas. “We’re excited to partner with Fandango to provide online and mobile ticketing conveniences to Premiere moviegoers across the country.”
The news follows on the heels of the company’s recent acquisition of MovieClips, the largest movie trailer and content network on YouTube, with more than 7 million subscribers, averaging 200 million video views per month. Fandango also launched a new Twitter Card experience, offering movie fans the opportunity to learn about current and upcoming films and connect to Fandango ticketing right from a Tweet.
