Tashir Group’s Cinema Star theater chain is installing MasterImage 3D in its theatres across Russia. This March the Tashir Group began ambitious plans to expand the high-end multiplex industry in Russia by opening over 125 new screens through the next 10 years with 3D a large component of that experience.

Cinema Star selected MasterImage 3D for the presentation quality of the Horizon3D premium digital cinema system, recognized for bright 3D without sacrificing image quality.

Horizon3D uses a three-beam optical system that eliminates discrepancies between pass-through light and reflected light to create high-brightness 3D with greater clarity and uniformity than two-way beam systems.

“Russian moviegoers continue to choose the 3D format as a preferred cinematic experience—whether Hollywood blockbusters or local productions,” says Karina Agadzhanova, CEO at Cinema Star. “Cinema Star is committed to offering the highest quality 3D presentation, and Horizon3D offers the perfect balance of brightness, vivid colors and crisp 3D imagery.”

“Exhibitors like Cinema Star make the Russian market so exciting,” says Adam MacDonald, director of digital cinema, EMEA at MasterImage 3D. “Cinema Star is synonymous with selecting the latest digital cinema technology, and Horizon3D is a great match for their desire to put the best 3D images on screen.”
