Cinépolis, the leading Mexican film exhibition company, and CJ 4DPlex have announced the opening of the first MacroXE ScreenX theatre at its Escala Morelia complex (Plaza Morelia), in the state of Morelia, Michoacán.
The opening at Cinépolis Escala Morelia is in addition to the two theatres already available in the country; and that, due to the characteristics of the format, becomes a truly differentiated experience that revolutionizes traditional cinema. ScreenX implements a 270º multi-projection system. The combining of MacroXE’s immersive sound and 19-meter center screen with ScreenX will create a unique premium experience for the Cinepolis movie goers.
The MacroXE ScreenX of Escala Morelia will have its first screening with the long-awaited premiere of Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, the long-awaited sequel directed by the incomparable Tim Burton, which takes the audience back to the gothic and eccentric world that fascinated generations. Michael Keaton returns as the irreverent and eccentric ghost, Beetlejuice, while Winona Ryder reprises her iconic role as Lydia Deetz, now as a mother with teenager Astrid Deetz (Jenna Ortega).

In addition to the MacroXE ScreenX theatre in Escala Morelia, ScreenX theatres can be found exclusively at Cinépolis, including the Ultra 4DX auditorium in Parque Toreo, in the State of Mexico, the only auditorium of its kind in the Americas, as it combines the 4DX motion and environmental effects with the ScreenX technology; and a traditional ScreenX auditorium in Las Antenas, Mexico City.
