The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Samuel Goldwyn Theatre in Beverly Hills has installed Barco 4K laser projection from Cinionic.
The new Barco laser projector from Cinionic provides high brightness, color gamut and exquisite picture quality. Industry-leading laser projection from Cinionic works seamlessly on with the theatre’s state-of-the-art sound system to present films at maximum technical accuracy.
“We are honored to work with the Academy to bring 4K laser projection to its Goldwyn Theatre,” said Wim Buyens, CEO, Cinionic. “At Cinionic, it is our mission to power the next generation of moviegoing with exceptional laser-powered cinema and provide filmmakers with the tools to showcase their films the way they were meant to be seen.”
“The Academy strives to support and lead with new technology, giving our members the absolute finest movie viewing experience. We are happy to partner with Cinionic on this projection upgrade to our state-of-the-art Samuel Goldwyn Theatre,” said Kevin Collier, chair of the Academy’s Theatre Standards Committee.
Cinionic oversaw the installation of the new projection stack and is providing ongoing technical support for the theatre. The Samuel Goldwyn Theatre is the second Academy theatre powered by Cinionic, following the recent installation of laser projection at its Linwood Dunn Theatre in Hollywood.
