Arts Alliance Media has launched the latest product in its digital cinema software suite – Lifeguard – designed to monitor equipment across a cinema circuit and to power cinema Network Operations Centers. The software has been developed in-house using the years of experience gained by AAM whilst running their own NOC, which supports thousands of screens worldwide, and is now available to exhibitor and integrator partners around the world to power their own NOCs.
Lifeguard has been built with two goals in mind: simplicity and power. Its functionality includes comprehensive monitoring of all devices in a circuit, including projectors, playout servers, the TMS and sound and network equipment. The software monitors key data from the equipment, such as lamp hours, disk hours and equipment temperature. Lifeguard also has proactive alerting and reporting, allowing users to configure exactly what they want to be alerted on, and to have immediate reports sent via email or SMS to alert to potential faults.
To run a Network Operations Center, Lifeguard has a trouble-ticketing system to log and track tickets and rich reporting to monitor equipment real-time and cross check tickets directly with device alerts at site. Data can be analysed over many months to investigate trends and identify and address common issues. Additionally, any SLA breaches are easily visible and tracked, and a knowledge base can be created for maximum efficiency.
Eric Stevens, commercial director of Arts Alliance Media said, “Having run our own NOC for many years to support thousands of screens worldwide, we spent significant time considering all existing cinema NOC tools before picking the best bits and leaving behind the less ideal to build our own software. Lifeguard is a key piece of our digital cinema software suite, and integrates with all our other software to provide a service to watch over all equipment across a chain and keep an eye out for any problems, as well as making sure those problems are fixed.”
