GDC Technology Limited announced today that it has won a solicited proposal to be Caribbean Cinemas’ exclusive provider of digital cinema servers for the next four years. Caribbean Cinemas owns and operates 583 screens in the Caribbean Islands, Central and South America.

This agreement confirms the leadership position of both companies in the pursuit of innovation, efficiency, and great customer experience. UK systems integrator Bell Theatre Services is handling the installation.
Leading Indonesian exhibitor Flix Cinema has opened a new, 10-screen cinema complex at the Mall of Indonesia in Jakarta. Flix Cinema is a brand of Agung Sedayu Group, one of Indonesia’s premier development corporations. Its first venue was at the Pik Avenue mall, in the Pantai Indah Kapuk district of north Jakarta.
The Strong Entertainment Group subsidiary of Ballantyne Strong has filed for an initial public offering that will spin it out of its parent as a separate company. The filing does not price the stock nor say how many shares will be sold. That will be disclosed in later amendments. The new company is to be named Strong Global Entertainment and is intended to trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol SGE.
