SubtitleNext V5.6 with Smart Text Assist Available Now

PBTEU of Sofia, Bulgaria has released SubtitleNext Version 5.6, which offers a new centralized Smart Text Assist feature that the company says significantly speeds up and simplifies the entire text-altering process. It combines all of the text-altering tools in one place so that they can be easily accessed. This provides a reliable and consistent framework for busy subtitlers to achieve fast results.

Making the Case for Subtitles

Cinema history was made earlier this year when the South Korean black-comedy thriller Parasite became the first subtitled film in 92 years to win the Academy Award for Best Picture. Director Bong Joon-ho used his acceptance speech at the Golden Globes, where the film also won awards, to champion subtitles and encouraged audiences not to be put off by foreign language films. He said once audiences “overcome the one-inch-tall barrier of subtitles” they will be introduced to so many amazing films. He added that we use only one language: “the cinema."

Videohouse Upgrades its Subtitling Capabilities

Belgium media facility Videohouse recently upgraded its SubtitleNext Explorer and Expert software suites from PBT EU, primarily for creating subtitles for TV series and movies. Videohouse chose SubtitleNext in September 2018, to enhance its content services department. Since then, Videohouse has been working nonstop on several projects that have been subtitled using SubtitleNext. Recent notable projects include series Vikings, Big Little Lies and Siren.
