Under the arrangement, Cameron Thomson will assist WCP Media Services in expanding the company’s flagship content management solution across the global media marketplace. Cameron Thomson Group’s president Ronald Thomson will take an active role in WCP Media Services as managing director of Global Business, in conjunction with his worldwide team.

A movie named Baba Joon was selected as best film at the most recent Ofir Awards, the Israeli version of the Academy Awards. The film portrays the human struggle many face when having to choose between tradition and personal freedom, dealing with the challenges that the generational gap can cause. Baba Joon is the feature-length directorial debut of screenwriter director Yuval Delshad, an Israeli and himself, the son of Iranian immigrants. Shot with a Red Epic, Baba Joon was also the first feature completed on Tel Aviv-based Edit Studio's Mistika.

Visual effects studio Arsenal Creative has announced an expansion of its creative team with the addition of award-winning artist Andy Bate as the head of 2D and lead visual effects supervisor. Formerly a senior Flame artist at a52, Bate will lead the Arsenal Creative team.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has awarded SMPTE an Emmy Award for Technology and Engineering for its work on Standardization and Pioneering Development of Non-Live Broadband Captioning. The award was presented to SMPTE, Netflix, Home Box Office, Telestream, and the World Wide Web Consortium during the 67th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards ceremony, which was held January 8 in Las Vegas in conjunction with the international Consumer Electronics Show.
The American Society of Cinematographers has nominated three cinematographers for the 2016 Spotlight Award, which recognizes outstanding cinematography in feature-length projects that are screened at festivals, internationally, or in limited theatrical release. The winner will be announced at the 30th ASC Awards on February 14, at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza. The 2016 nominees are Adam Arkapaw for Macbeth, Mátyás Erdély, HSC for Son of Saul and Cary Joji Fukunaga for Beasts of No Nation.
