Leading Hindi films distributor Yash Raj Films has teamed with California based MediaMation to release the Indian feature War in MX4D. The film is one of the most anticipated features of all time for the Indian film industry.
B&B Theatres will install ten MX4D auditoriums in new builds, existing theatres and retrofitted cinema acquisitions across the United States by the end of next year. “The expansion of our relationship with MediaMation proves our belief in MX4D,” said Brock Bagby, executive vice president of B&B Theatres.
Leading Indian film production company Yash Raj Films has announced that its latest feature film War will be coming to select theatres in CJ4DPlex’s multi-sensory cinema experience, 4DX. War was produced by Aditya Chopra. The film will release October 2 on Gandhi Jayanti, a national holiday in India. The movie in 4DX will be available in India at PVR Cinemas and Cinepolis Cinemas, and at Oman, Qatar, Lebanon, and across the UAE at Vox Cinemas.
CJ 4DPlex announced today that Lionsgate is releasing Rambo: Last Blood and Midway in the company’s immersive, multi-sensory 4DX format. Rambo: Last Blood opens September 20; Midway opens November 8.
Kino Arena and MediaMation have signed an agreement to open four MX4D auditoriums in Bulgaria. The first installation is scheduled for an early fall opening in The Mall of Sofia.
United Cinema Chain Kino Okko will be the first company to introduce the Dolby Cinema experience to the Russian market at its Cinema Park Metropolis in Moscow. Dolby Atmos immersive audio technology has been successfully deployed at several Russian movie theatres in recent years.
CJ 4DPlex, together with B&B Theatres, have launched the world’s first ScreenX Amphitheater in Overland Park, Kansas inside B&B Overland Park 16. The newly arranged auditorium, which marks the second largest ScreenX theater in the world will open with Warner Bros. Pictures’ It Chapter Two on Friday, September 6th.
The July 19 opening of CJ 4DPlex 4DX with ScreenX at the Grand Cinema Sunshine in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, of Sony Pictures' Spider-Man: Far From Home, extended its run by four weeks due to sold out screenings during prime-time slots and recording attendance rates as high as 99 percent during peak showing times. In China, 4DX with ScreenX attendance numbers also soared, with occupancy rates doubling that of standard 2D formats for Spider-Man: Far From Home.
B&B Theatres, the sixth largest theatre chain in North America, is adding five additional CJ 4DPlex ScreenX auditoriums across the U.S., for a total of seven by 2020. The companies partnered last year to introduce the largest ScreenX system in the world, a screen that is more than four stories tall and seven stories wide, offering moviegoers one of the most premium, immersive viewing experiences in history.
THX has released a new Deep Note trailer to commemorate the company’s 35th anniversary. In addition to the visual celebration and surprises, the trailer offers a deeper immersive audio experience with THX Spatial Audio three-dimensional sound over headphones or earbuds.
