NewFest, in partnership with Outfest, today announced the lineup of their 27th annual celebration of the year’s best LGBT films from around the world. The program of nearly 100 narrative features, documentaries and shorts runs October 22-27 at the newly renovated Bow Tie Chelsea Cinemas, and at the recently completed screening room at The LGBT Community Center in New York City. The festival is presented by HBO.

The LOCO London Comedy Film Festival is back for its fifth year at BFI Southbank and selected cinemas in 2016 with new dates and a new programming strategy, and the festival is looking for comedy films with brains, heart and courage.
The Long Beach International Film Festival will be celebrating its fourth anniversary as they bring a fresh line up of exciting films from around the world to Long Island. Taking place September 24-27th primarily in the City of Long Beach, New York the event will once again branch off into Rockville Centre as well. There are also three new screening venues to expand its film programming, along with filmmaker’s lounges and after parties at local restaurants and hotels. The September 24 opening night at Madison Theatre at Molloy College features Lamotta: The Bronx Bull, a feature film from director Martin Guigui starring William Forsythe, Paul Sorvino, Joe Mantegna and Tom Sizemore exploring the tumultuous life of boxer Jake LaMotta.
The 72nd Venice International Film Festival opened today with the 3D laser projection of Baltasar Kormákur’s Everest. The Universal Pictures International film was projected using a Lux laser light source developed by Cinemeccanica, Technical Partner of 72nd Venice International Film Festival.
Three of LipSync Post’s film projects will be featured at the 40th anniversary Toronto International Film Festival 2015. LipSync provided post-production services as well as equity investment services for London Road, London Fields and Kajaki. The strong showing at TIFF follows the success of seeing nine LipSync film projects at the London Film Festival last year.
The Gold Coast International Film Festival will be hosting the Long Island Premiere of a new film, Althea, about the trailblazing tennis pioneer Althea Gibson. The screening will take place August 29th at 7:30pm at Soundview Cinemas in Port Washington.
