Big Cine Expo 2022 Runs August 16-17 in Mumbai

Big Cine Expo’s tradeshow and convention will be held August 16-17 at the Bombay Exhibition Center in Mumbai, India. This event is designed to add value to single-screen cinemas, multiplex cinemas, and business-to-business stakeholders of cinema and entertainment. Big Cine Espo is the only cinema exhibition convention and trade show specifically for the burgeoning cinema exhibition market in Asia and India.

Last month at CineEurope, Harkness Screens’ chief technology officer Laurent Espitalier became the first Harkness staffer to sit in on a Union Internationale des Cinémas | International Union of Cinemas Round Table talking about exhibition and laser speckle. Cinity Wins CineEurope’s Technical Achievement Award

Cinity was this year’s winner of the Technical Achievement Award at CineEurope 2022. This is the first time a premium high-tech film brand from China has won this prestigious award at a major trade exhibition, and it is a starting point for the global expansion of Cinity. Fu Ruoqing, vice-chairman and general manager of China Film Group accepted the award.

Thor: Love and Thunder Opening in ScreenX

Marvel Studios Thor: Love and Thunder will debut in CJ 4DPlex’s immersive 270-degree panoramic ScreenX format in theatres worldwide beginning July 6, followed by the United States on July 8. By expanding specially selected film sequences onto the left and right-side walls of the auditorium, ScreenX surrounds and transports moviegoers into the otherworldly action of the film.

PVR Inox Merger Moving Ahead

Cinema chains PVR and Inox said they have received the approval of the Securities and Exchange Board of India for their merger, clearing an important step in the regulatory process. The two companies announced in March that they were planning a merger to create India’s largest multiplex chain with a network of more than 1,500 screens.
