Metrocinemas First All-Laser Chain in Central America
Honduran cinema chain Metrocinemas has chosen Christie RGB pure laser projectors and Christie Vive Audio for its new Metrocinemas Megamall multiplex. The multiplex is set to be the first in Central America equipped entirely with RGB laser projectors.
Theatres Still Adding Screens for Avengers: Endgame
With just a few days left before the year’s most anticipated film hits theatres, Fandango is reporting that more than 4,000 Avengers: Endgame showtimes have already sold out at theatres across the country – from big cities to small towns, from Hilo, Hawaii to Newington, New Hampshire. The nation’s theatre chains are constantly posting new showtimes and adding new screens for Endgame on Fandango to meet the fan demand.
B&B Opens Sixth MX4D Theatre
B&B Theatres has opened another MX4D auditorium, bringing the theatre chain’s total to six. “Our continued partnership with MediaMation proves our belief in MX4D,” said Brock Bagby, executive vice president of B&B Theatres. Situated on the Kansas/Missouri state line, Overland Park is the second largest city in Kansas with nearly 200,000 residents. The theatre also has the ability to draw from the nearby Kansas City metropolitan area, which boasts almost 500,000 peoples.

CJ CGV to Open Theatre in San Francisco
CJ CGV announced today that it will open its third U.S. location at 1000 Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco, California in early 2020. CinemaCon 2019: The Catalyst Awards
Each year, Digital Cinema Report presents a Catalyst Award to the best new technology introduced at CinemaCon, the annual convention of the National Association of Theatre Owners. Marvel 22-Movie Marathon Redefines Event Cinema
For fans that want to watch every Marvel movie in one sitting, Showcase Cinemas in Revere, Massachusetts has it covered. As the exclusive New England location to host the 22-movie Marvel marathon beginning Tuesday, April 23 and concluding Thursday April 25, Showcase Cinema de Lux Revere is doing its best to make the two-day sacrifice a little easier for Marvel fans. Participants will have access to shower stations to clean up, yoga breaks to stretch and relax in between movies. Portable cell phone charging lockers will also be available. In addition, food breaks are scheduled and concessions will be discounted by twenty-two percent.
