The trade group Cinema Technology Community is starting an online educational cinema technology seminar series – CTC Tech Talks. Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas announced today that Shelli Taylor will assume the role of chief executive officer, effective May 1. Taylor spent almost twenty years as an executive with Starbucks, and most recently served as president of United Planet Fitness Partners, overseeing over 169 facilities across the country.
ShowBiz Cinemas plans to reopen its locations in the states of Texas and Oklahoma on May 18. In a statement on its social media channels the exhibitor wrote, “The safety of our guests and team members is the top priority, and we pledge to deliver our signature first class entertainment experience while providing peace of mind for each member of the communities we serve.”
Movie Tavern by Marcus is a premium theatre concept offering restaurant-style dining and in-seat service for moviegoers. At its new location in the Brookfield Square shopping center in suburban Milwaukee, guests can enjoy dinner and a movie in the premium SuperScreen DLX theatre. It is the first full theatre complex in the U.S. to exclusively feature JBL Sculpted Surround and Dolby Atmos.
