Slaves and Kings in Theatres August 22-23

The new feature film Slaves and Kings produced by the Claretians and Stellarum Films, directed by Pablo Moreno (Luz de Soledad, Poveda) and starring Antonio Reyes (The Ministry of Time, Gran Hotel), Alba Recondo (La Brujas de E’lente), and Carlos Canas (Luz de Soledad, Drug Squad), will premiere in movie theaters nationwide in English on August 22 and in Spanish on August 23 in Fathom Events theatres across the country.

Screenvision, CMX Cinemas Expand and Extend Agreement

Screenvision Media today announced that it has expanded and extended its agreement with CMX Cinemas. As part of the deal, Screenvision's Cinema Network will add eight CMX CinéBistro locations, including 52 screens. Screenvision now has all CMX CinéBistro locations, which offer an elevated moviegoing experience that features in-theater service, chef-crafted cuisine, curated cocktails and a lounge & bar.

Bullet Train’s a Hit; Now What?

The worldwide launch of Bullet Train across 58 markets topped the global box office chart and many local ones this past weekend, but the continued success of local titles finding space in a quieter global release schedule grabbed the headlines, according to the latest report from the London-based analytics firm Gower Street. The report goes on to say that the challenge for exhibitors is how to sustain this momentum with an upcoming slate of films that don’t appear to be as strong as the summer films have proven to be.

DCDC to Pay Rebates to Exhibitor, Content Partners

The Digital Cinema Distribution Coalition has announced that it will once again pay rebates to all its customers based on their continued use and support of the network. DCDC first provided rebates in March 2020 after paying back its founding investors (AMC Theatres, Cinemark Theatres, Regal Entertainment Group, Universal Pictures, and Warner Bros.) their initial investments in full.
