IT Chapter Two Gets Immersive Release

Warner Bros. Pictures, announced today the release of New Line Cinema’s IT Chapter Two in three immersive cinema technologies: the multi-sensory 4DX format, the heightened 4DX Extreme (available in select theaters and territories) and the panoramic, 270-degree ScreenX. When the film is released globally on September 6 audiences worldwide will be able to take in the highly anticipated horror franchise finale in the auditoriums of 4DX and ScreenX.

Grand Cinema Sunshine Features Christie RealLaser Projection, Vive Audio

Cinema Sunshine has installed Christie RealLaser projectors and Vive Audio in its new flagship cinema complex in Tokyo. Known as Grand Cinema Sunshine, the luxuriously furnished multiplex located in the commercial and entertainment district of Ikebukuro is the first in Japan to have all 12 auditoriums equipped with RGB pure laser projection systems.

Matrix Anniversary Screenings Exclusive to Dolby Cinemas

Dolby, Warner Bros., and AMC Theatres today announced that, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of The Matrix, winner of four Academy Awards including Best Sound, audiences across the U.S. can experience the Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Village Roadshow Pictures’ film in the more than 135 Dolby Cinema at AMC locations around the U.S., beginning August 30.

NCM Names Thomas F. Lesinski CEO

National CineMedia, the managing member and owner of 48.6 percent of National CineMedia, LLC, the largest cinema advertising network in the U.S., announced today that the company’s board of directors appointed Thomas F. Lesinski to the role of chief executive officer, effective August 2. He will continue to serve on the NCM board in his new role.

Abramorama, Eagle Rock Release ZZ Top Doc

Abramorama and Eagle Rock Entertainment are releasing a Banger Films documentary feature film that tells the story of how three oddball teenage bluesmen – Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill, and Frank Beard – became ZZ Top, one of the biggest, most beloved bands on the planet, all while maintaining a surrealist mystique that continues to intrigue fans and entice onlookers a half century after the band’s inception. All three band members will be in attendance at the premiere, as they prepare to embark on their 50thAnniversary Tour.
