The Arthouse Convergence’s first-ever regional seminar, held last week at the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington, New York, with a heavy emphasis on digital cinema technology, was called a success by its organizers, Russ Collins director and conference manager Barbara Twist.

Integrity Entertainment Systems led by president Gary Engvold, has been recognized by Christie for its recent milestone of more than 1,000 installations of Christie Solaria projectors for its customers, which include some of the leading chains and independent cinemas in the U.S.

The Seattle Cinerama Theatre, in Seattle, Washington has purchased the world’s first commercial digital laser projection system. Christie, who recently received the first US FDA approval of variance allowing the sale of laser projectors for use in a cinema, will install a 4K Christie digital laser projector, with scalable light output up to 60,000 lumens.

Sky-Skan's educational, 25-minute documentary, To Space & Back, which first opened in March to critical and public acclaim at the Fels Planetarium (The Franklin Institute, Philadelphia), will be re-released in September in a new version that, at 8K resolution, stereoscopic 3D and 60 frames per second.
