Walter Schonfeld, the former CEO of SDI Media Group and former president of Technicolor Entertainment Services, has joined Deluxe Entertainment Services Group as president, Digital Cinema Global Operations. Schonfeld brings decades of industry experience and a track record of implementing technology to transform client services to this new role driving worldwide operations for Deluxe Technicolor Digital Cinema.
The Santa Rosa Entertainment Group has incorporated the Barco Lobby in its Plaza Stadium 14 theatre in Oxnard, installing a network of animated box office, concession and menu boards, way finding displays and movie posters and a custom multi-screen movie trailer presentation system.
A second feature film, Brice 3, has been re-mastered with Ymagis Group’s EclairColor digital color technology. The James Huth film starring Jean Dujardin, Clovis Cornillac and Bruno Salomone will be released in France on Wednesday and shown exclusively in EclairColor at the Gaumont Marignan cinema on the Champs-Elysées. The CinemaNext France teams have equipped one of the largest auditoriums at the Gaumont Marignan with EclairColor technology.
Brenden Theatres has signed an exclusive digital advertising contract with Allure and the Christie Experiential Network. The network now covers 76 percent of the Top 25 DMAs including San Francisco, Denver, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, and Sacramento.
Ymagis Group will showcase its new EclairColor digital color solution in Los Angeles over a four-day period from November 1-4. Christie is providing 4K projection to the British Film Institute London Film Festival at a unique temporary cinema that could become a blueprint for others. The Embankment Garden Cinema has also been built in celebration of the LFF’s 60th anniversary. For 11 days, with a 16-meter screen bigger than most London cinemas, the rigid-bodied structure will seat 800 people at London’s Victoria Embankment. It will also screen the LFF’s Official Competition and Strand Gala premieres.
