Maheshwari Theatre Second in Bangalore, India to Adopt Barco’s Auro 11.1 Sound

The Maheshwari Theatre in Bangalore, India has installed Barco Auro 11.1 sound technology. The new sound system will be unveiled at a press conference May 23. The 1,000-seat theater is the second screen in the region to upgrade its sound system to Auro 11.1; the Manasa Theatre upgraded its sound last July.

Fandango Adds Harkins, Digiplex and Premiere to Cinema Network

Fandango has added Harkins Theatres, Digiplex Destinations and Premiere Cinemas to its cinema network. These latest exhibitor agreements bring Fandango’s ticketing conveniences to an additional 1,000 screens in a dozen states including Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. Fandango now powers online and mobile ticketing for more than 24,000 U.S. screens, representing the vast majority of the nation’s theaters.

Levi’s, Warner Bros. First Brands to Use Screenvision’s SoundHound Capabilities

Screenvision today announced that Levi’s and Warner Bros. are the first brands to sign on since the company announced its relationship with audio recognition technology leader, SoundHound, last month. The brands will begin using the technology as early as this month. With more than fifty percent of Screenvision’s audience falling within the elusive and hard to reach young demographic of 12 to 34 years old, Screenvision is providing its advertisers opportunities for extended engagement beyond the screen

DMS Chooses Christie Projection for X-Men Premiere

Christie has been selected by preferred partner Digital Media Systems to provide the 3D digital cinema projection technology for the world premiere of 20th Century Fox’s film X-Men: Days of Future Past on Saturday, May 10. DMS will transform the River Pavilion at the Jacob Javits Convention Center into a theater to screen the highly anticipated X-Men sequel, with two Christie Solaria Series digital cinema projectors onto a 26-foot by 62-foot screen.
