At CineEurope 2017 Coca-Cola has joined forces with Barco to set up a Barco Lobby Experience to demonstrate how exhibitors can turn their cinema lobbies into enjoyable destinations to make the movie-going experience memorable.
Sony has named Damien Weissenburger business head of Sony Digital Cinema 4K in parallel with current responsibilities as business head of corporate and education solutions. Based in the UK, he will oversee strategic growth plans for the two separate business entities.
Premiere Cinemas has adopted Unique Digital’s RosettaPOS softwarein all its sites, effective immediately. “We are very pleased to have been instrumental in the development and implementation of RosettaPOS, in close cooperation with the team at Unique Digital,” said David Horáček, co-owner of Premiere Cinemas.
Dolby Laboratories today announced that Warner Bros. Pictures’ Horse Soldiers is the 100th Dolby Cinema title. "Reaching the 100th announced title for Dolby Cinema is a tremendous accomplishment that couldn’t have been achieved without the support from the directors and filmmakers who want to use the best technology for their storytelling,” said Doug Darrow, senior vice president, cinema business group, Dolby Laboratories. “In 2017 we announced 44 Dolby Cinema titles, more than any other premium format, which is a testament to the ongoing commitment from Hollywood and studios around the world to deliver the best experience to the cinema.”
Unique Digital has released version 2 of their Smart Trailering system with a new, user friendly, ergonomic user interface. Version 2 is available immediately to all exhibitors in Sweden and Finland, alongside existing major clients in the UK and Norway.
Ymagis Group has announced the completion of the agreement to form its new exhibitor services company, CinemaNext North America, with Dallas-based CinTech. In accordance with the agreement signed in May, Ymagis Group holds a 75 percent stake in the company; CinTech the remaining 25 percent.
At CineEurope 2017 in Barcelona June 19-22, Christie will preview what the company says is the first direct coupled Pure RGB laser-illuminated cinema projector not to need external cooling systems. Christie’s new CP4325-RGB is an addition to its Freedom Series of Pure RGB laser cinema projectors.

Unique Digital has released Basekey Cloud, a sotware-only version of its key delivery message system Basekey. As the name suggests, Basekey Cloud requires no hardware to be installed within the theatre itself. The exhibitor simply enables a VPN connection to Basekey Cloud from their network to activate the service.
