DPA’s 6066 Subminiature Headset Microphone was a winner in the Product Design category at the Red Dot Awards, which were held this week at the Aalto-Theatre in Essen, Germany. DPA Microphones’ project lead Rune Møller and research and development manager Ole Moesmann accepted the award for the company.

The Awards, now in their 14th year, are considered important recognition for groundbreaking work and artistic excellence, acknowledging creative artistry in color grading, editing, sound, and visual effects in feature film, episodic, and commercials. The 14th HPA Awards gala will be returning to the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, California on the evening of Thursday, November 21, 2019.
The International Cinema Technology Association has named Ellis Jacob, president and chief executive officer of Cineplex, the recipient of the Global Cinema Innovation Award. The award will be presented to Jacob at ICTA’s awards ceremony at Puro Beach, Hilton Diagonal, June 16 in Barcelona the day before CineEurope begins.

Film Independent, the nonprofit arts organization that produces the Spirit Awards, announced the 13 filmmakers and eight projects selected for its 2019 Documentary Lab. The call for entries for the Engineering Excellence submissions will close on May 24.
CinemaCon’s Excellence in Event Cinema Award will be presented to Warner Bros. for their continued interest and success in creating theatrical experiences around content from the company’s various divisions, including Warner Bros. theatrical, home entertainment and DC Comics.
