Cinema Park, the leading nationwide multiplex chain in Russia, and Ymagis Group today announced the completion of the installation of a Barco DP4K-60L 4K laser projection system at the Cinema Park Mega Khimki location in Moscow. The projector equips the Premium Large Format Super D auditorium, which boasts a 17.7-meter wide screen and a seating capacity of 376.
“As a leading cinema chain in Russia, we are pleased to offer the audience a perfect image both in 2D and 3D formats with the highest light output in the world, as certified by the Guinness World Records book, and this marks the very first installation of the projection system technology in Eastern Europe,” said Nadezhda Baimbetova, head of marketing for Cinema Park. "Together with global leaders in digital technologies, Ymagis Group/dcinex and Barco, we are introducing an innovative new technology that uses 40 percent less power than xenon lamp versions. This is a technological breakthrough in our industry and an environmentally-friendly solution."
“Our cooperation with Russia’s largest cinema exhibitor is a significant achievement to us and strengthens our business relationships in this market,” said Kirill Kuzmenko, general director of dcinex/Ymagis Group’s Russian office. “Along with our partner Barco, we are delighted to equip Cinema Park with such technology designed specifically for Premium Large Format auditoriums. The Barco 4K-60L projection system with its 60,000 lumens is an ideal solution for big screen theaters and offers exceptional image quality, unmatched brightness in 3D with vivid contrast, realistic color reproduction and the same image quality in the center as at the edges of the screen.”
The Barco DP4K-60L claims to be the first DCI-compliant projector capable of showing 4K 2D content at 60 fps and 4K 3D at 30 fps. Barco’s flagship laser projectors are based on an intelligent projector concept that combines cost effectiveness and Barco Alchemy technology.
