Showcase Cinemas is launching a competition for budding content creators to recreate classic film scenes with the chance to have them screened at cinemas across the United Kingdom. The Be Scene on the Big Screen competition invites film fanatics to recreate their favorite movie scenes, with the chance to have their content showcased on the big screen ahead of all film screenings.
Whether it’s a recreation of Danny and Sandy’s duet from Grease, Kevin McCallister’s iconic shaving scene from Home Alone or even Rose and Jack’s I’m Flying scene from Titanic, Showcase Cinemas wants to see Brits get creative.
Jon Dixon, UK marketing director at Showcase Cinemas said, “Everyone wants to see themselves on the big screen, and now they have the chance! Our new competition gives content creators and film fans the chance to be seen by millions of cinemagoers nationwide.
“We love seeing re-enactments of famous movie scenes, so we can’t wait to see what people come up with. The winning videos will give people the chance to become a star.”
The Be Scene on the Big Screen competition starts on Friday and to enter, film fans must recreate an iconic scene from the big screen and post via an Instagram Reel or TikTok video tagging @showcasecinemasuk and including the hashtag #ShowcaseScenes.
A winner will be selected every month, with the winning video included in the preshow before every film throughout the following month. The winners will include their social media handle too if they are happy to share this, meaning there will be multiple opportunities to Be Scene on the Big Screen.
The winner will also receive two complimentary cinema tickets, so they can see their video on the big screen for themselves. As well as the winning video, five runners up will also be chosen each month, also receiving two free tickets for a cinema and film screening of their choice.
