The QuVIS Wraptor DCP encoder is now available in the current release of Adobe Media Encoder CC. The new integration provides Adobe Creative Cloud members with the ability to easily create digital cinema packages for distribution and archiving.
DCPs offer a solution for delivering and storing ultra high-quality content. With the new integration, editors, filmmakers, broadcasters, and other video content creators will be able to output unencrypted DCPs from Adobe Media Encoder at resolutions up to 2K. Users who need to generate 4K, or stereo 3D content can purchase additional modules from the QuVIS website.
“Today’s announcement is a significant step towards bringing DCPs into the mainstream. They are not just for theatrical movie distribution any more,” said Kenbe Goertzen, QuVIS CTO. “Our goal is to make DCPs more accessible for dailies, independent distribution, archive, and other applications.”
Today’s announcement brings easy support of high resolution, high fidelity and high dynamic range content in the DCP standard format. Wraptor employs advanced encoding technologies which enable the creation of significantly smaller files with higher perceived image quality than has previously been available.
QuVIS’ software–based DCP player enables DCPs to be played without a high cost theatrical digital cinema player and projector resulting in easy preview and playback of DCPs.
“Our aim is to deliver advanced tools to Creative Cloud members,” said Simon Williams, director of strategic relations at Adobe. “The QuVIS Wraptor DCP encoder provides Adobe Premiere Pro CC, After Effects CC and Photoshop CC users with the ability to package video content from Adobe Media Encoder, providing an easier solution for delivering DCPs.”
