Reading International will open the first Angelika Film Center & Café on the West Coast October 9. Dedicated to exhibiting quality films and events, the sleek and modern Angelika Film Center & Cafe is a unique venue for San Diego’s culturally rich community offering diverse programming and a creative menu of craft beverages and bites.
A cultural institution in New York City since 1989, the original Angelika Film Center & Cafe is one of the most successful arthouses in North America, generating record box office grosses for Academy Award winners including Blue Jasmine, Slumdog Millionaire, Birdman and The Artist. For more than 10 years, devoted moviegoers have also enjoyed Angelikas in the Dallas area and more recently, in Fairfax, Virginia. and Washington, D.C.
Opening titles include Pan, The Walk, Freeheld, He Named Me Malala, 99 Homes, Goodnight Mommy and Rififi.
The new Angelika features full-recliner luxury seats in a stadium setting, digital projection by Barco, Dolby 7.1 audio, and reserved seating for a leisurely cinematic experience.
