The association promises a full slate of presentations from a range of content providers showcasing new event cinema content plus a series of topical panel discussions and presentations.

Comscore will give a presentation on the global box office performance of event cinema during 2020.  Movio will show how event cinema content in the UK helped to drive attendance and bring in new audiences to the cinema post-pandemic.

The ECA has been supporting the Cinema Technology Community, which has funded and created a range of test material for cinemas to use to help improve the presentation and quality of live events. This is an entirely new initiative and learning program to deliver to the industry.

Panel discussions will delve into the success of, and subsequent opportunities for, music events in cinemas and the evolution of streaming for event cinema content. Over the course of the pandemic, many content providers like the Royal Opera House and National Theatre Live shifted to various video-on-demand platforms to get audiences to engage with their content. One panel will discuss the opportunities and challenges this presents for event cinema content.

Registration will open in the coming weeks.

A recording of the event will be available to members to view post event.
