Cineworld Centralizes on AAM Software

Arts Alliance Media announced today that they are significantly extending their technological partnership with the Cineworld Group, one of the world’s largest exhibition companies. Following Cineworld’s recent acquisition of Regal Cinemas in the USA, the exhibitor has decided to automate their scheduling and content management using Screenwriter in Regal Cinemas’ 7,361 screens, and expand Producer’s coverage across Cineworld’s entire portfolio, which includes Picturehouse, Cinema City, Cineworld, and Regal Cinemas. AAM will also provide third line technical support to the new sites.

Cinemaxx Expands Deal with Unique X

Unique X has expanded its operations in South East Asia in a new deal with fast-growing Indonesian cinema chain, Cinemaxx. The agreement will see Unique X install RosettaBridge theatre management system, RosettaNet and Basekey key delivery message management systems across all 47 Cinemaxx sites, currently incorporating a total of 239 screens.

Putting the Grand in Grand

This past February, DTS and CJ 4DPlex announced a strategic alliance to bring DTS:X immersive audio technology to ScreenX theatres worldwide. What the companies didn’t announce at the time was that their first joint project together was already up and running in Liberty, Kansas. B&B Theatres brands their premium large format offerings as Grand Screens, which counts as typical Midwestern understatement because, at four stories tall and seven stories wide, the new B&B Theatres Liberty 12 currently features the largest ScreenX auditorium in the world.

FilmLight to Hold Second Color Day

The next in the series of acclaimed FilmLight Color Day master classes will be held April 8 during the National Association of Broadcasters convention. Presented by industry leaders in creative grading, this intensive day will introduce colorists, DPs and the wider production and post industry to the opportunities and challenges of modern color finishing and delivery.
