The International Cinema Technology Association 2020-2021 award for innovation in cinema exhibition in Europe, the Middle East and Africa goes to Muvi Cinema, U-Walk, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for Best New Build Cinema; to Cineplexx, Millennium City, Vienna, Austria for Best Cinema Refurbishment; and to Pathé Tuschinski, Amsterdam, The Netherlands for Classic Cinema of the Year.

Deluxe One Dub Receives Two NAB Show Product of the Year Awards

At a time when it is critical for the media and entertainment industry to have access to reliable and effective remote workflow solutions, Deluxe has been recognized for its remote audio cloud recording tool, One Dub a module of the Deluxe One platform. The technology received two 2020 NAB Show Product of the Year Awards, one for Audio Production, Process and Networking and another for Remote Production. The winners were announced October 20 during the awards ceremony, which took place in the NAB Show New York digital experience.

SMPTE Names 2020 Honorees

The Society of Motion Pictures and Television Engineers has released the names of the industry leaders and innovators who will be honored at the Awards Gala that will be part of this year's interactive remote SMPTE 2020. Scheduled for November 11-12 during the Society's annual technical conference and exhibition, the online celebration will recognize business, technical, and creative leaders and students who have made substantial contributions to the ongoing advancement of media and entertainment technology. SMPTE Fellow elevations will be conferred November 10.

Colorist Groups Partner on New Award

The Colorist Society International is joining the Independent Colourist Guild as partner and co-organizer of the newly launched Colorist Awards. The first-ever international competition focused exclusively on the craft of color, the event recognizes outstanding work by colorists across feature films, television, documentaries, commercials, music videos and shorts. Entries are being accepted now through December 31 for work first appearing in 2020. Winners will be announced in March.
