Pathé Tuschinski Upgrades Sound System

The Pathé Tuschinski in Amsterdam, which has been widely acclaimed as the most beautiful movie theatre in the world, celebrated its 100th anniversary last October. Pathé Tuschinski is regularly used for red carpet premieres and, with three more auditoriums added by the purchase of the next-door cinema in the 1980s, audiences can watch films in the luxury of its restored Art Deco interior, with plush seating, private boxes, love seats and at-seat delivery of food and drink. The cinema also boasts 21st Century sound.

CinemaxX Mannheim Focuses on Sound

With 700 seats, the Kino 10 of CinemaxX Mannheim is among the largest cinemas in Baden-Württemberg. And at nearly 280 square meters, the screen is definitely the largest. Years ago Filmtheaterbetriebe Spickert Entertainment, operator of the CinemaxX installed an Alcons Cinemarray pro-ribbon system. The theatre has converted to Dolby Atmos and new Alcons technology has taken center stage.

This trend has only increased the demand that the audio match, or even surpass, the quality of the images on the big screen. Cinema sound has never been bigger or more important. With its imposing Art Deco exterior, the Pathé Tuschinski in Amsterdam is The Netherlands’ most prestigious cinema. Inside it has been restored to its original 1920s glory, while at the same time being extended and modernized to satisfy the expectations of 21st century filmgoers. The latest phase has included the installation of a custom Alcons Audio system.
