IBM has introduced Aspera Files, a new SaaS platform that allows any organization, small to large, to establish a branded web-based presence for the fast, easy and secure exchange and delivery of any size file-based media or data between end users across separate organizations, combining multiple storage platforms.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has launched the Academy Color Encoding System, a free, open, device-independent color management and image interchange system that offers a critically needed global industry standard for motion picture and television production.
In a webcast on Tuesday the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers updated its work on the Interoperable Master Format. Annie Chang, vice president of post-production technology, the Walt Disney Studios, gave the hour-long presentation, which was entitled Interoperable Master Format (IMF) - Application 2 and Beyond.

Aspera was an official partner at the Sundance Film Festival, which ended last week. The festival took place on January 22 – February 1 in Park City, Utah. Sundance chose Aspera faspex TM to enable independent filmmakers from all over the world to submit their work quickly, efficiently and securely for this year’s festival.
