Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment have announced that, for the first time, U.S. audiences will be able to experience two classic, culture-defining Steven Spielberg films— E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial and Jaws —on Imax screens nationwide. E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial will be released exclusively on Imax screens beginning August 12, to celebrate the film’s 40th Anniversary. Jaws will be released on Imax screens and also in RealD 3D beginning September 2.

CJ 4DPlex announced today that Paramount Pictures' Top Gun: Maverick will debut in immersive 270-degree panoramic ScreenX theaters worldwide starting May 27. In the U.S., fans will have a chance to see Top Gun: Maverick at select ScreenX locations early on Tuesday, May 24.

B&B Theatres and CJ 4DPlex have announced the development of several new ScreenX theaters located in B&B multiplexes across the U.S. The new openings will result in a total of eight ScreenX auditoriums across B&B multiplexes by 2023.
CJ 4DPlex and Major Cineplex, the largest cinema chain in Thailand, have signed an agreement to open the first ScreenX PLF auditorium at Major's multiplex at Siam Paragon in Bangkok, Thailand. The new ScreenX PLF auditorium will have 336 seats and a 20-meter-wide screen, the largest ScreenX in the country.
Aeon Entertainment and Imax Corporation today announced plans to expand their partnership with an agreement for two new, Imax with Laser systems in Japan. Both new systems will be located at prime retail complexes in thriving suburbs of major Japanese cities, including the Aeon Cinema Ichikawa Myoden outside Tokyo and Aeon Cinema Shijonawate near Osaka.
Flix Brewhouse is installing GDC’s Cinema Automation CA2.0 to fully automate cinema operations for perfect presentation while significantly reducing the costs associated with booth operations. Flix Brewhouse was founded in 2011 and now operates nine dine-in cinema concepts in Indiana, Iowa, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Texas, and Wisconsin. Flix Brewhouse is the only first-run movie theatre in the world to incorporate a fully functioning microbrewery.
