Dolby Atmos Passes 500 Screen Mark in India

Dolby has reached a milestone of more than 500 installed Dolby Atmos screens across India. From Indian multiplexes – including 16 all Dolby Atmos multiplexes – to independent and single screen exhibitors, Atmos screens are found in 143 cities and 22 states and Union Territories in collaboration with Carnival Cinemas, Cinepolis, Inox Cinemas, PVR Cinemas, SPI Cinemas and other independent exhibitors.

CGR, Vox Cinemas Partnering on ICE Theatre

French company CGR Cinemas and Vox Cinemas are partnering to bring a new premium screen concept to the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Vox Cinemas’ parent company is Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the region. Their new format is called ICE Theatre, for immersive cinema experience.

Captain Marvel Releasing in the ScreenX Format

Captain Marvel, which opens March 8, will be the third movie from Marvel Studios to be converted into the ScreenX format. It is the latest collaboration between The Walt Disney Studios and CJ 4DPlex and follows the globally successful ScreenX release of Black Panther and Ant-Man and The Wasp. Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson in the title role and is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.

Regal Marq*E Houston Opens ScreenX Auditorium

Regal will open a ScreenX theatre on February 13 at its Regal Marq*E location in Houston, Texas. The new ScreenX auditorium brings the current Regal ScreenX count to 12 and is also home to the immersive, multi-sensory film format, 4DX, which opened last month. The latest ScreenX opening is part of a previously announced major expansion plan with the Cineworld Group, the parent company of Regal.

BTS World Tour, Love Yourself Releasing in ScreenX Format

The concert film BTS World Tour, Love Yourself, in Seoul, will be released in CJ 4DPlex’s multi-screen ScreenX format on January 26 for a two-week run. The film was shot at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul last August and captures the opening of the current tour. The tour has already drawn thousands of fans spanning the world from North America to Europe and Asia, and has proved to be the most sought-after tour of 2018.
