Cinionic Extends its Laser Ecosystem

Last month Cinionic announced the debut of its new cinema screen designed for laser-powered auditoriums. The company said the Cinionic Laser Screen 2.4 amplifies the power of laser projection through optimized efficiency and enhanced onscreen movie presentation. AMC Theatres is set to be the first exhibitor to receive the new screens, with nearly two dozen installs planned this year. Cinionic Laser Screen 2.4 is now available in the U.S. and Mexico, with a global rollout planned over the next few months. I recently spoke via email Carl Rijsbrack, Cinionic’s chief marketing officer and head of innovation, to learn about the development of the screen and what plans the company has for future products.

Cinema Day a Big Success in Poland

According to preliminary estimates, in Poland on Cinema Day, September 30, cinemas that took part in the campaign recorded more than 550,000 admissions. About 40 percent of tickets were sold for Polish films. The Cinema Day initiative involved the Cinema City, Helios and Multikino chains, cinemas associated in the Polish New Cinema Association, the Association of Arthouse Cinemas, and the Polish Cinemas Association, as well as non-affiliated cinemas.
