Hoyts, the largest single-brand movie exhibitor in Australia, has commissioned D-Box haptic recliner seats in for seven additional Hoyts’ locations, to be installed by the end of 2023. This will raise the total number of Hoyts theatres equipped with D-Box technology over the last four years to 22, many of them full-fledged D-Box auditoriums.

The recovery of cinema attendance was promising in the first half of the year, but then suffered from a weaker offering of films during a very hot summer. In 2022, up to and including the month of September, Kinepolis welcomed 76.1 percent of the visitors welcomed in the same period in 2019.

In an event that reverses entertainment industry norms, Showcase Cinemas today announced that it will offer a special, one-night-only screening of the season five premiere episode of fan-favorite TV show Yellowstone in partnership with MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios.
