Fathom Presents Betty White Tribute

Betty White, who died on December 31, 2021, and was one of America’s most beloved stars, would have turned 100 years old on January 17th. To mark that momentous milestone, Fathom Events planned to celebrate the day with a once-in-a-lifetime event: Betty White: 100 Years Young—A Birthday Celebration. What had once been seen as a joyous occasion will now be a bittersweet remembrance of a life well-lived.

Screen Media, Fathom Releasing Blackbird

Screen Media has announced that ahead of its limited theatrical and video-on-demand release of Roger Michell’s Blackbird on September 18, they have partnered with Fathom Events for an exclusive nationwide cinema premiere on September 14 and 15. Each screening will be accompanied by a special introduction from Michell and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage.

Gone with the Wind Sets Event Cinema Records

Classic film presentations that give audiences the rare opportunity to see cinematic favorites commercial-free on the big screen have generated $5.53 million since the beginning of the year, Fathom Events announced today. The results were led by the 80th anniversary of Gone with the Wind, which grossed $2.23 million in just six nationwide screenings across four dates, setting a record as the highest-grossing classic film for Fathom Events and the event cinema industry. The previous record was set in January by Fathom and another Warner Bros. milestone from 1939, The Wizard of Oz.

Jackson WWl Documentary To Be Re-Released

On the heels of its already record-breaking release, and in response to popular demand, a third Fathom Events date has been added for Warner Bros. Pictures’ much-heralded WWI documentary They Shall Not Grow Old, from Oscar-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson. The film will be screened at more than 1,000 locations in the U.S. and Canada on Monday, January 21, taking advantage of the long Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend.

Fathom’s Second Act

This past July, Ray Nutt succeeded John Rubey at Fathom Events becoming the company’s second CEO in its four-year history. While many things at Fathom remain the same, there have already been some changes under Nutt. Among them, the fact that the company has started releasing its revenue figures on a regular basis. Not surprisingly, what those numbers show is that event cinema is big business and that, as the dominant company in the market, Fathom is a force to be reckoned with.

Fathom to Distribute Pokémon Movie

The new animated film Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!, based on the globally popular Pokémon brand, is coming to movie theaters around the world for two days this November. The Pokémon Company International announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Fathom Events, the recognized leader in event cinema distribution, for international theatrical rights (outside of Asia) to the highly-anticipated movie.

Fathom Presents American Wrestler

Fathom Events and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment are bringing film festival favorite American Wrestler: The Wizard to movie theaters nationwide for one night only May 3 only. Based on true events, the coming of age story is set in a world of competitive high school wrestling, starring William Fichtner, Jon Voight and introducing newcomer George Kosturos.
