Larry H. Miller Sports + Entertainment has announced further expansion of Megaplex Entertainment to St George’s Desert Color in Utah. The newest Larry H. Miller Megaplex Entertainment at Desert Color is being developed in partnership with Woodbury Corporation as part of the master-planned community and regional shopping center. Project development of Megaplex Entertainment at Desert Color is already underway with specific construction details coming soon.

Cinema Advertising Growing in India

Cinema advertising will have 0.9 percent share in total traditional advertising, amounting to Rs 1,047 crore, in 2024, according to the Pitch Madison Advertising Report 2024. This would mark a 35 percent annual growth for the domain. However, cinema’s global share of advertising is expected to be only 0.3 percent.

Trafalgar Bringing Nickelback Documentary to Big Screens Worldwide

Trafalgar Releasing, Gimme Sugar Productions, and Submarine Entertainment announced plans today to bring Hate to Love: Nickelback, a feature-length documentary film about one of Canada’s most iconic and globally celebrated rock bands, to cinemas worldwide for two nights only on March 27 and March 30. The feature-length documentary will be distributed to more than 1350 locations across 30 countries.

UNIC Releases Europe’s 2023 Box Office Numbers

The International Union of Cinemas, representing European cinema operators and trade associations, has today released 2023 box office and admissions data for its 39 territories. The figures represent the first assessment of European cinemas’ performance last year, based on preliminary estimates. Detailed final data will be released later in the spring.

DCDC Celebrates Banner Year, Tenth Anniversary

The Digital Cinema Distribution Coalition has announced that 2023 was its highest performing year ever with 410,000 feature and event files, representing nearly 100 million gigabytes of data delivered to in-network theaters. The company said this volume far exceeds pre-pandemic levels from 2019 and more than made up for the reduced number of wide releases by increasing delivery of independent film releases by 87 percent.
