Post Leader Calls for Strikes to End

This is in part thanks to the creative and marketing team behind Barbie, as the Barbiecore aesthetic seems to be taking over the world and there’s pink everywhere. But in addition to all the pink and glamor of Barbie, another highly anticipated movie is coming to theaters the same weekend. Christopher Nolan’s latest movie, Oppenheimer, starring Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer is ready to make an impact.

Reel Luxury Cinemas Opens in Houston

Houston-based Culinary Khancepts, known for brands that include Liberty Kitchen & Oysterette, State Fare Kitchen & Bar and Star Cinema Grill, will open its two newest concepts to the public on Wednesday, July 12. Reel Luxury Cinemas and The Audrey Restaurant & Bar are located in The Woodlands at the popular Market Street development. The venues will be sharing more than 20,000 square feet of second floor space with beautiful views of the green space.

Aronofsky Creating Documentary for Sphere

Academy Award-nominee Darren Aronofsky is currently directing the feature-length documentary film Postcard from Earth, a first-of-its-kind production set to debut at Sphere in Las Vegas this October. Aronofsky is utilizing the Big Sky camera system to capture content for the immersive production, which will fully-maximize Sphere’s 22nd century technologies – including the world’s highest resolution LED screen, the world’s most advanced concert audio system, and atmospheric elements such as wind and scent – to transport audiences to places both real and imagined.

Volfoni recently created a joint venture in China to more effectively penetrate the Chinese market.

Digital Cinema Pioneer AAM Turns Twenty

On June 17, digital cinema pioneer Arts Alliance Media will celebrate its 20th anniversary. The company was founded in 2003 by Thomas Hoegh and Arts Alliance Ventures, and initiated the first global digital cinema rollout, replacing 35mm projectors with digital upgrades for the UK’s Digital Screen Network. A short time later, AAM became the founding investor of Lovefilm and Picturehouse Cinemas, which were eventually sold to Amazon and Cineworld respectively. In 2007, AAM negotiated financing agreements with the Hollywood studios and that same year launched its first theatre management system. In 2008 AAM completed the first virtual print fee deal in Europe with the French cinema chain CGR.

Cinderella UK’s Favorite Disney Princess

Cinderella has been named the UK’s favorite Disney princess, according to new national research, from Showcase Cinemas. The study, which was commissioned to celebrate the release of the live-action The Little Mermaid, also revealed Cinderella (11 percent) is the nation’s favorite Disney Princess movie – with the top three characters also reflected in the UK’s top three favorite films as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (10 percent) and Beauty and the Beast (8 percent) landed among the nation’s favorites.

Director David Cronenberg’s 1988 horror film Dead Ringers, about twin OBGYNs whose penchant for tricking others threatens to shatter their own psyches, has received a sibling of its own with the six-episode Amazon miniseries of the same name. Starring Rachel Weisz as twins Beverly and Elliot Mantle, the show tracks a similar descent into madness, but one that’s carefully distinguished as a complement to its predecessor. All throughout the series, the color red plays a key role.

Fast X Releasing in ScreenX

CJ 4DPlex together with Universal Pictures, announced that Fast X, the new chapter in the global blockbuster Fast & Furious Saga, in theaters this Friday, May 19, will debut in the 270-degree panoramic ScreenX format. This is the first time a Universal Studios' film from the Fast & Furious franchise will premiere in the visually immersive theatres.
