Kimbal Riley Named Vista Group CEO

Vista Group International has announced that Kimbal Riley will take over as group CEO from Murray Holdaway. Holdaway will take up the position of chief product officer and will continue in his role as an executive director on the Vista Group board. This has taken place as part of a succession planning process. The transition takes effect April 3.

Vista Introduces Cinema Manager

Vista Cinema has introduced Cinema Manager, a browser-based application designed to enhance box office and concessions sales activities and frees cinema personnel from the back office, allowing for increased mobility, more efficient execution and improved focus on customers. Cinema Manager is the result of nearly two years of development.

Filmhouse Cinemas Installs Vista Software

Filmhouse Cinemas has announced that it will roll out Vista Cinema software across all ten of their cinema sites, comprising 43 screens in total, located throughout Nigeria. The project will commence immediately and is due to be completed by the end of the year. Filmhouse Cinemas holds the largest cinema exhibition market share in Nigeria and operates the only IMAX site in West Africa.

Sonic Equipment Now Implementing CE+S Cielo

Sonic Equipment has announced that it is now implementing Cinema Equipment and Supplies’s Cielo platform, a cloud-based, remote monitoring, technical support and predictive analytics solution across all their customers. The company says this will allow Sonic to increase business efficiencies and provide superior customer support. For the past two years, Sonic and CE+S assisted each other with field services. Now, following this formal partnership, the two companies can work together to be a stronger force in the cinema industry and offer even better and more efficient service to Sonic and SOS clients.

POSitive Cinema Names Mark Waldman Director of Sales and Marketing

POSitive Cinema Solutions has named Mark Waldman director of sales and marketing. A seasoned professional with experience in programming, corporate training, product management and sales in several vertical markets, Waldman joined the cinema industry in 2002, as the IT director, for Palace Cinemas, now Cinema City. Palace Cinemas had 22 sites and 180 screens with cinemas in Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia. In the nine years at Palace Cinemas, he oversaw the transition to digital cinema, as well as the development of a proprietary point of sales system.
