Graham Spurling: A Life in Cinema

Graham Spurling is director of Movies@Cinemas in Ireland and managing director of Spurling Group Cinemas. He was also a founding board member of the Event Cinema Association. His company currently operates four theatres across country with a total of 34 screens. He has been involved in exhibition since shortly after graduating from Welsley College.

A New Golden Age?

Golden Age Cinemas’ drive-in theatre in McHenry, Illinois will reopen for business May 8 and May 9. The first features planned are the animated film The Flintstones, followed by the action-adventure picture Jurassic Park. But, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the theatre will be operating under guidelines from the state’s Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
