To celebrate the occasion, Showcase is inviting the public to come to the cinema on May 21 to experience the updates in person with $5 movie tickets, activities, music and more.
Screenvision Media has added a suite of new digital products that will allow for smarter media plans to deliver on the bottom line for the company's advertising partners. The new products were announced during the company’s recent 2022 Upfront presentation. The offerings include Trailer Pack and Cinelytics.

The Last Waltz (1978), Singin’ in the Rain (1952) and several other classics represented by Park Circus will feature as part of the Cinéma de la plage program, a series of free screenings at the Cannes Film Festival, taking place each evening in an open-air theatre on the Macé beach. A new Spanish streaming concept called acontra+, which combines movie streaming and cinema ticket sales in a single subscription, has launched on the Magine Pro platform. The service is run by the independent Spanish distributor A Contracorriente Films with a wide catalogue of national and international feature films of all genres, classics and contemporary films and is made available through Magine Pro's multi-platform service.
The Marvel sequel Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness delivered a colossal $449.8 million global opening, according to the latest report from the London-based analytics firm Gower Street. The launch was the second biggest of the pandemic-era behind only Spider-Man: No Way Home, which also featured the character of Doctor Strange (as played by Benedict Cumberbatch). The new hit reportedly tracked just 17 percent behind No Way Home in like-for-like markets. Multiverse of Madness did not release in Russia, due to the ongoing studio boycott of the market following the invasion of Ukraine, and Saudi Arabia, where it was banned.
The United Nations Development Programme and SAWA Global Cinema Advertising Association today launched an eight-week international cinema advertising aimed at raising awareness of the climate emergency and spurring broader, urgent action to address it. In the 60-second cinema ad, Frankie, a computer-generated dinosaur is seen storming into the UN General Assembly, seizing its iconic podium, and urging stunned-looking dignitaries to avoid the dinosaurs’ fate—extinction—by making changes to tackle the climate crisis.

The incomparable Judy Garland would be celebrating her 100th birthday this June and to honor this special occasion, Fathom Events and Warner Bros. are bringing her unforgettable performance in The Wizard of Oz back to cinemas for a two-day engagement. The film will play in more than 800 theatres nationwide on Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network on June 5 and 6.
