Ymagis Group has reported its consolidated financial results for the first quarter of 2017, ending March 31. In a market where replacement sales have not yet significantly taken off and after a first quarter generally unrepresentative of annual business, revenue for Ymagis Group was down by 2.9 percent at €41.5 million over the first three months of 2017, mainly due to the effect of a scheduled reduction in VPF business and a temporary fall in equipment sales.
Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia, a qualifying film festival for the annual Academy Awards and one of Asia’s largest international short film festivals, will be held June 11 in Tokyo.
An estimated 991 million cinema tickets were sold in the 28 European Union member states in 2016. This is 13.3 million more than in 2015 and marks the highest level registered in the EU since 2004. Cumulative gross box office revenues measured in euros, however, declined slightly by 2.3 percent from 2015’s record high but remained above the €7 billion level for the second consecutive year amounting to an estimated €7.04 billion.
Amazon Studios and Abramorama are bringing Long Strange Trip, Amir Bar-Lev’s critically acclaimed documentary about the Grateful Dead, to theaters across the U.S. to give fans an opportunity to experience the documentary on the big screen prior to its New York and Los Angeles release on May 26. Following its release in theaters, the documentary will come exclusively to Amazon Prime Video on June 2.

The film features two interviews with the only living person to have ever confessed to killing President John F. Kennedy from the now infamous grassy knoll in Dallas, Texas.
