CEN Installing Ultraleap Touchless Signage in Ten Cinemas

CEN Media Group and Ultraleap have signed a deal that will see touchless technology signage installed into as many as ten theatres as cinemas reopen and respond to life post-COVID-19. this technology will allow brands to continue to engage with consumers in a safe and responsible way. The companies did not disclose what theatres or locations are involved in the effort.

Tribeca, National Cinemedia Partner on HQ Movie Trivia Night

Last night the popular app HQ Trivia unveiled HQ Movie Trivia Night, a game show for passionate film buffs and families bringing you questions on your favorite motion pictures. Presented by Tribeca in partnership with National CineMedia HQ Movie Trivia night will air live every Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. EDT. Players compete for a $5,000 prize.

Fandango Launches Comprehensive Program to Reassure Returning Movie Patrons

Kinepolis Accelerates Move to Laser Projection

UK Cinema Association Publishes Guidelines for Drive-Ins

The UK Cinema Association has published safety guidelines for the re-opening of drive-in cinemas—the first step in the recovery of the U.K. cinema sector from the COVID-19 lockdown. Drive-in cinemas, which were allowed to open in England on June 15, have seen a resurgence in recent weeks, particularly in the United States and Germany.

Cinionic Expands Relationship with Saudi Arabia’s Muvi Cinemas

Cinionic, the Barco, CGS, and ALPD cinema joint venture, has expanded its relationship with Muvi to extend laser-powered cinema to more audiences across Saudi Arabia. Muvi, the country’s first homegrown theater chain, launched in 2019 as part of the introduction of the cinema experience in the region. Cinionic, a partner since Muvi’s inception, and as part of the ongoing expansion of cinema in the Kingdom, will equip more than 400 new screens with technology from its award-winning laser portfolio, including Barco Smart Laser and Series 4 projectors.
