New Filmmakers ShowcaseFinding Affordable Post
As any good indie filmmaker knows, post-production is an extremely important part of the puzzle when it comes to creating a great independent film. The process can often become overwhelming however, and leave the indie filmmaker unsure of how to begin post-production or find a facility that caters to the specific needs of independent filmmaking. When director Matthan Harris was ready to finish his film titled The Inflicted, he began searching for an indie friendly post house that would deliver the same quality as a big budget film.
CreativityDocumenting Surf Photography
Filmmaker Kellen Keene is dedicated to documenting artistic endeavors through his visuals. Recently, he was inspired to go behind-the-scenes with surfer and photographer Chris Burkard to show what it is like to be a surf photographer and to showcase how some of the images Burkard shoots are made. Keene knew every shot had to be in the moment, so he wanted a shooting package that could keep up with the quixotic personality of the surf.
In ProductionShooting in Tight Spaces
A major portion of director Todd Robinson’s submarine thriller Phantom, starring recent Golden Globe Award-winning actor Ed Harris, was filmed in the confines of an actual Russian submarine. Blocking became extremely important for cinematographer Byron Werner and gaffer Steve Lundgren while down in the cramped sub. They had to have a very precise lighting approach. If an actor missed his mark by inches, he would be out of his lighting.
In May More2Screen will screen a new version of Cinderella.
