Wanda Cinema Line, a subsidiary of Dalian Wanda Group Corporation, has selected software from Arts Alliance Media to manage cinema screens in its new build sites in China. The deal, completed through AAM’s Chinese reseller partner, ACE (Shanghai) Digital System will equip 270 screens with AAM’s theatre management system, Screenwriter, to manage their content, playlists and scheduling.

AAM’s partnership in China with ACE will see ACE representing AAM across China and reselling AAM digital cinema software to exhibitors and integrators.

Arts Alliance Media’s Screenwriter, which is deployed on around 20,000 cinema screens globally, automates processes which were previously time-consuming and inaccurate, and providing comprehensive monitoring and content management. Cinema owners can see all content at a glance, easily build and schedule playlists, and move content and schedules across screens at the touch of a button. Proactive monitoring provides real-time alerts so problems may be immediately addressed to avoid black screens and missed shows.

Jerry Ye, vice president of Wanda Culture Group said, “Arts Alliance Media’s digital cinema software provides the power and reliability we need to service all our new screens. Screenwriter will help make our operations more efficient and accurate.”

The deal between Arts Alliance Media and Wanda follows AAM CEO Howard Kiedaisch’s recent trip to China as part of the UK government’s trade delegation, headed by Prime Minister David Cameron who said, "I am delighted that Arts Alliance Media are joining me in the largest British business delegation to go to China this century.”

Kiedaisch added, “We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Wanda Cinema Line, and are very proud that an exhibitor of their size and reputation has selected AAM software to run their new digital cinema sites. It was also an honor to be part of the trade delegation to China. The Chinese cinema market is at a very exciting time, and we’re delighted to be there with such quality partners.”

The Wanda deal was completed with the support of Dolby, whose APAC cinema technical marketing sirector Kate Wu said, “Dolby is excited to collaborate with AAM to better serve the Chinese market. Both companies share a common vision around using innovation and new technology to help our mutual customers to grow their businesses.”
